Chippy

Philadelphia-bred, New York-residing, ice hockey-playing Conrad Strabone, Jr. described a fellow player as chippy. What does chippy mean, I wanted to know. So he attempted to translate the ice hockey jargon for me, but I just wasn’t getting it.

I asked, “Is he like a nudge?”

To which Conrad responded, “A nudge with a weapon!”

Finally, I got it.
